Environmental Commitments

Continuous monitoring and improving the environmental situation of the company has been one of the major strategies of Sangan Mining Industries Company as increasing capacities and developing the production chain. To achieve this, SMIC has taken the initiative to prepare documents and establish guidelines for implementing an environmental management system based on the ISO 14001 standard and continuously improving the environmental performance of its activities.

The company has developed strategic and operational strategies based on legal requirements and national and international environmental regulations, on the one hand, and on the other hand, by analyzing the environmental opportunities and challenges ahead, examining stakeholder expectations, and identifying existing weaknesses and opportunities for improvement within the company.

Therefore, after formulating strategies, this company will dynamically and effectively incorporate the process of reviewing and evaluating its own strategies into its agenda. This will lead to improving the company’s environmental performance and ensuring the rights of stakeholders in line with corporate social responsibilities.

The environmental commitments that SMIC is taking steps toward include:

  1. Reducing resource, energy, and water consumption.
  2. Continuously reducing pollutants and replacing environmentally harmful materials.
  3. Decreasing the use of resources and consumable raw materials.
  4. Efforts to create, maintain, and expand existing green spaces.
  5. Minimizing waste production, separating and recycling waste whenever possible, and moving toward clean and green production.
  6. Enhancing employee awareness and capabilities.
  7. Collaborating and interacting with organizations, associations, and regulatory bodies to participate in public awareness and environmental controls as part of the company’s social responsibilities
