Launch of the Supplier Communication System at SSMIC

Ali Ghasemi, Planning and Support Manager at Sangan-Khorasan Steel Mining Industries Company (SSMIC), announced on the sidelines of the Mashhad INOTEX (Stock Exchange, Banking, and Insurance Exhibition) that the company has launched a platform entitled the “Supplier Communication System,” with the project originally initiated in 2021.

“Our goal from the outset was to enhance engagement with suppliers,” Ghasemi stated, “and by 2022, we completed the platform to bring greater transparency to transactions. Through this system, all related processes have been digitized.” He noted that a clear roadmap was in place from 2021, and the company’s systems were gradually developed and integrated with the general procurement structure.

Furthermore, a common language has been established between the market and the technical departments. In early 2025, a payment module was added to the system, enabling suppliers to track the status of payments and purchase orders online. Additionally, a QR code module has been launched for inbound items and their physical locations in the warehouse. Relevant forms related to consumption, goods in transit, and inventory have also been integrated.

Ghasemi added, “One of the key developments was the launch of the electronic waybill system, which had previously been a missing link for suppliers. Earlier, shipment notifications were done via phone calls. Now, suppliers can electronically submit details of their shipment, including the driver’s information, vehicle, waybill type (governmental or internal), and other specifications. A bar chart dashboard has also been developed to monitor the entire transportation process.”

He continued, “In the import sector, we have implemented a customs management system so that, after foreign order placement, all stages including currency allocation, order registration, customs clearance, or transit are tracked and managed through the platform. Within the next month and a half, we will also implement a system for quality control of domestically manufactured items. The procurement commission system has also been fully integrated into the procurement process, with direct access granted to the board of directors. These are some of the systems we have developed and implemented at SSMIC during this period.”
