SSMIC’s Industrial Self-Sufficiency Jihad: This time, the localization of a seven-axis liner handler in the country.
Sangan Khorasan Steel Mining Industries Company, by localizing a seven-axis liner handler in the country, has managed to save 2.5 million euros. This action has reduced dependency on imports, strengthened production, and simultaneously played a fundamental role in developing industrial infrastructure and improving efficiency in the steel industry and concentrate production in the country.
Sangan Khorasan Steel Mining Industries Company, as one of the largest producers of iron ore concentrate and pellets in Iran with an annual production capacity of 5 million tons, has implemented a project to localize the seven-axis liner handler in order to reduce dependency on imports and enhance domestic production capabilities. This project has been defined with goals such as reducing costs, increasing operational efficiency, reducing safety risks in production processes, and improving domestic technical knowledge. This specialized equipment, which was previously only supplied through imports from Australia and other countries, has now been manufactured for the first time in the country using domestic technology.
In line with supporting domestic production and the directives of the Supreme Leader, Sangan Khorasan Steel Mining Industries Company has initiated extensive cooperation with domestic knowledge-based companies active in the field of heavy machinery manufacturing. Due to the lack of a domestic sample of the seven-axis liner handler, the company, with the help of a domestic company, completed the design, engineering, and manufacturing process. According to company officials, this project was completed within 6 months of research and development.

The localization of this equipment has prevented a significant amount of currency from leaving the country and has also increased the safety of employees on the production line.
