Outstanding and Remarkable Performance of SSMIC in the Production and Sale of Strategic Products
SSMIC’s Steady Steps in the National Steel Industry
In the first ten months of 1403, SSMIC, as one of the most significant producers of raw materials in the country’s steel industry, demonstrated remarkable performance in the production and sale of its strategic products, especially pellets and concentrate. This company, which has experienced substantial growth in production and sales in recent years, faced some challenges during this period despite achieving positive results in production.
Pellet Production Growth
According to SSMIC’s public relations, in the pellet production sector, SSMIC successfully produced 4,455,660 tons of pellets in the first ten months of 1403, showing a remarkable 39% increase compared to the 3,205,350 tons produced in the same period last year. This growth in pellet production was mainly due to increased production in the final months of 1403. Particularly in the months of Azar and Dey, significant jumps in pellet production drew more attention to this sector. For example, in Azar, pellet production reached 386,700 tons, marking a 263% increase compared to the same month last year. This trend intensified in Dey, with an unprecedented 502% jump in pellet production, reaching 393,000 tons. These production achievements compared to last year indicate improved productivity and increased production capacities of the company.
This significant increase in pellet production, especially in the final months of the year, reflects improvements in production processes achieved through technology upgrades and optimization of various production stages. On the other hand, these production successes demonstrate the company’s ability to meet market demand and better utilize existing capacities in production lines.
Challenges in Pellet Sales
Although SSMIC’s pellet production saw a significant increase in the first ten months of 1403, the company faced challenges in sales. Pellet sales during this period reached 3,951,789 tons, showing only an 8% increase compared to the 3,670,397 tons sold last year. This is despite SSMIC achieving a 39% growth in production.
Additionally, thanks to the tireless efforts of SSMIC’s team in Dey, the company realized 157% of its pellet production program, producing over 393,000 tons and exceeding the concentrate production program by 111%, producing over 431,000 tons in the current month.
In the early months of the year, particularly in Farvardin, Ordibehesht, and Khordad, SSMIC experienced good sales. During these months, pellet sales saw significant increases, reaching 491,404 tons in Ordibehesht, marking a 73% increase compared to the same period last year. This increase in sales indicates high market demand early in the year. Overall, the sales decline in the months of Aban, Azar, and Dey presents a serious challenge for SSMIC, requiring greater attention to market issues and sales strategies.
Concentrate Production Increase
In the concentrate production sector, SSMIC also performed well. Total concentrate production in the first ten months of 2024 reached 3,747,262 tons, showing a 14% increase compared to the 3,286,249 tons produced last year. This increase in concentrate production was particularly noticeable in the months of Mehr and Azar. In Mehr, concentrate production increased by 246%, reaching 402,070 tons, indicating success in improving production capacities and better productivity in this sector.
However, in Tir, concentrate production reached 195,230 tons, showing a 44% decrease compared to the 347,120 tons produced in Tir last year. This decline in concentrate production could be due to various reasons, including technical issues, raw material supply limitations, or even economic constraints at the time. Overall, fluctuations in concentrate production remain a challenge.
Outstanding Performance, Promising Continuous and Sustainable Production
SSMIC’s performance in the first ten months of 1403 indicates significant progress in the production of the company’s main products, especially pellets and concentrate. The 39% growth in pellet production and the 14% growth in concentrate production compared to last year are among the company’s major achievements in this period.
